LAHORE: Sloganeering and trade of abuses between workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the PML-N on the sessions court premises did not allow start of scrutiny of the NA-122 election record.

The seat was won by NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had ordered scrutiny of the election record on the plea of losing candidate and PTI chief Imran Khan.

As Friday was the first day of the scrutiny process, a large number of workers of both the parties gathered on the court premises. They chanted slogans against each other and traded abuses.

Police personnel deployed on the court premises took hold of the situation and dispersed the charged workers. The scrutiny process will begin on Saturday (today).
