KARACHI, Sept 7: The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Senior Vice President Lt Gen Abdul Majid Malik has said the Sindh chapter of the party has been dissolved after all efforts to prevail on the provincial leadership to sort out their mutual differences failed.

He stated this in response to the speeches by Capt Haleem Siddiqui, Maj Mustijab Hussain and Maqbool Shaikh, in which they criticized the party high command for dissolving the PML(Q) Sindh chapter instead of removing the controversial leadership and for appointing a five-member organizing committee under senator Nisar Memon, who they claimed was a novice.

Gen Majid Malik said the mandate of the committee was only to report recommendations to the party high command, that how the PML-Q’s Sindh chapter could be made active and turned into a populist party.

Regarding workers’ complaints against the government, he said “not only you have grievances, but I too have complaints. But we have to keep in view the circumstances which had forced the party to make compromises with other parties to form the governments in Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan provinces and in the centre, where our governments are in the name only.”

Justifying the grievances of the workers the PML-Q leader said the party could not assert itself due to its own weaknesses, shortcomings of our chief ministers, ministers and advisers. However, he stressed the need to respect the ego of party workers and opening the door of the CM House, at least for one day in a week, for them so that they could play their role in mitigating the problems of people.
