Excellent display by Irfan, Imran

KARACHI, Aug 30: Opener Irfan Ali Khan and medium-pacer Imran Hasan guided Dawn Group to a crushing 98-run victory over Brookes International in the AKU Sports and Rehabilitation cricket tournament here on Saturday.

After being sent into bat in the game at AKU Ground, Dawn Group piled up 195 for six in their 25 overs with Irfan making 78 which five fours and three sixes.

Mohammad Javed struck two sixes and as many fours in scoring 45 while putting on 101 for the third wicket with Irfan.

Medium-pacer Soomro claimed three for 40 while left-arm paceman Zafar took two for 23.

Brookes International, in reply, were bowled out for 97 in 19.4 overs despite a good knock of 41 by opener Mazhar.

Imran Hasan was Dawn Group’s bowling hero with excellent figures of five for 23 in five overs. Sabir Iqbal also bowled well to take two for 32.
