Murder convict gets death

GUJRANWALA, Aug 30: A local court awarded on Saturday death sentence and Rs100,000 fine to a murder convict.

Convict Haq Nawaz will have to undergo another six-month hard jail in case of default of payment.

According to the prosecution, Haq Nawaz killed Muhammad Yousaf over an enmity at Bhulley Model Town on March 31 this year.

Meanwhile, the court rejected the bail application of an accused, ASI Akhtar Husain, who had manhandled a registration office clerk. He was jailed the same day.
