LAHORE, Aug 30: The Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited has extended the period of disbursement of production loans for the Kharif season through a one-window operation up to Sept 30 to facilitate small farmers.

This was stated during a briefing given to Punjab Revenue Minister Gul Hameed Khan Rokhri, here on Saturday. Senior officers of the revenue and relief departments attended the meeting.

The participants were informed that Rs4.5 billion had been allocated for disbursement among the small farmers through a one-window operation. By now, around Rs2.15 billion had been distributed among the farmers for the purchase of seed, pesticides and fertilizers. The maximum loan limit is Rs60,000.

Mr Rokhri directed the officials concerned to offer maximum facilities to the farmers, besides extending cooperation and guidance.
