KARACHI, July 23: In line with the directives of federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has made the exchanges of Gulshan-i-Hadeed, Zulfiqarabad and Port Qasim as a part of Karachi Multi-exchange Area.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the NWD codes and prefixes of said exchanges will be changed at midnight between July 31 and August 1. Existing two digit prefix is now changed into three prefix with addition of digit ‘4’ to the rest of the telephone number.

It is worth mentioning that subscribers of these areas were demanding to connect these exchanges with Karachi multiple exchange since long.

The existing prefix of Gulshan-i-Hadeed is 71, which will be changed to 471, similarly Zulfiqarabad’s existing prefix is 75, which will be changed to 475 and Port Qasim existing prefix is 73, which will be changed to 473.—PPI
