KARACHI, Dec 19: Two young men and two boys died in road accidents in the city in the past three days.

An eight-year-old boy died when he fell from a pickup in Sharifabad on Monday. Police said Rizwan fell from the rear of a Suzuki pickup truck on the main Sharifabad road near the KESC office. The driver did not bother to stop the vehicle and escaped. Police drew a blank on the registration number of the vehicle.

Another boy died in a road accident on Super Highway on Monday. Police said Mohammed Ishaq, aged 10, was run over by a car (E-7572) near Al-Azam Shopping World on Super Highway. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, police said.

A young motorcyclist died while saving a child on Abdullah Haroon Road on Tuesday night. Police said Zia-ul-Hasan, aged 25, was passing through Abdullah Haroon Road when in front of the US Consulate a boy suddenly appeared in front of him. In an attempt to save the child he hit his head against the pavement.

He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A young man died in a road accident in Baldia Town on Wednesday night.

Edhi sources said Fazalur Rahman, aged 35, was run over by an unidentified vehicle near Rasheedabad, Baldia Town. The vehicle was travelling at high speed. Rahman died on the spot.

ARRESTS: Police arrested four alleged bandits in North Nazimabad on Wednesday and recovered three TT pistols and one dagger from some them.
