LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has said PML-N government’s false promises are continuing as Sunday and Ramazan bazaar “fraud” has been exposed with an increase in prices of commodities from 60pc to 100pc.

In a statement issued here on Monday, PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry said the government was defaulting on all its promises. Common people could not even afford a decent Sehr and Iftar because of sky-rocketing prices of fruits, vegetables, yogurt and flour, he lamented.

Chaudhry said the price control committee had also failed as people like Food Minister Bilal Yasin and MNA Hamza Shahbaz, who were supposed to keep a check on prices, visited bazaars on helicopters and spent millions on photo shoots at a few shops. He demanded all shopkeepers not adhering to price lists be arrested and punished.

PTI Punjab Secretary-General Dr Yasmin Rashid said prices of medicines had also increased from 30pc to 80pc in Ramazan when people suffered from a lot of stomach problems. She regretted the government had not been able to control medicine prices and demanded they be brought down to serve the common man.

PTI Punjab Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas claimed the government had also not fulfilled its promise of “no loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar”. She demanded unannounced loadshedding be stopped immediately.
