TAXILA: A health practitioner of Hassanabdal was gunned down by unknown masked men on Monday evening outside his private hospital on Grant Trunk (GT) Road. The police have described the incident as a case of target killing.

Dr Faisal Manzoor was standing outside his hospital at 8pm on Monday when two men opened indiscriminate fire, killing him on the spot.

On getting information, police rushed to the crime scene and shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for autopsy.

The deceased was a famous social and political personality of the area. He also served as the general secretary of Abdalians Old Boys Association for some time.

It is worth mentioning that the cousin of the victim, a health official Dr Babar Ellahi, was killed on March 18 this year when he was returning from the same hospital. Despite the lapse of three months, the police have failed to apprehend the culprits.
