MULTAN, July 7: The three-day Urs of Hazrat Shah Ruknuddin Alam started here on Monday.

Caretaker Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi performed the ghusal ceremony along with DCO Azam Suleman Khan, Makhdoom Zain Hasan Qureshi, Pir Zahoor Hasnain Qureshi and Syed Ameer Haider Shah in the presence of thousands of disciples of the saint from all over the country.

Shah Mahmood presided over a seminar held in the courtyard of the shrine on the opening day of the 689th Urs.

Speaking at the seminar, Shah Mahmood condemned the massacre in Quetta. He said Pakistan was also the target of international terrorism.

Modern weaponry and deployment of forces could not cure the menace of terrorism as it could only be checked by winning hearts of the people as was done by the sufis, he said.
