KARACHI: At least five people were killed on Wednesday in separate incidents of violence in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Two bodies were recovered in Mewashah Graveyard near Malang Darbar whereas another body was recovered from a river below the Lasbela Bridge.

All three were first kidnapped and later tortured, however, none of the bodies have been identified yet, police sources said.

One person was also gunned down in Manghopir's Mianwali Colony.

A body of a woman bearing torture marks was also found in a gunnysack in North Karachi’s Rashidabad area.

Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism.

Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
