HYDERABAD, July 6: An educational city will be set up at the Cadet College Petaro in few years, announced college principal commodore Mohammad Abid Saleem d at the inauguration ceremony of a telephone exchange at the college near here on Sunday.

He said the educational city would house a cadet junior academy and KG, nursery, information technology institute and a training centre for teachers.

MINISTER: The provincial minister for Zakat, Ushr, Auqaf and minority affairs, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, has announced that a 500- line telephone exchange would be set up at Sultanabad, Tando Allahyar taluka.

Speaking at a reception here on Friday, he also announced the construction of a one-kilometre road from the main road of the town to the Khwaja Colony and upgradation of the area primary school to elementary school.

Mr Magsi assured that scholarships would be awarded to students and announced a grant of Rs100,000 for installing a tube-well in Sultanabad.

Army recruitment: The district Nazim secretariat announced on Saturday that a team of the army selection and recruitment centre will hold camps in different areas of Sindh to recruit youth in the Pakistan Army.

As per the schedule the team will visit Tando Allahyar and Kunri on July 7, Umerkot July 8, Tando Bago and Golarchi July 14, Badin July 15, Mithi July 17, Digri July 18, Tando Mohammad Khan July 21, Qazi Ahmed July 24, and Pandhi July 25.

ARREST DEMANDED: A man from Seri town, Qazi Mohammad Qasim Burdi, has demanded arrest of the accused who had committed theft in his house on the night of June 23.

Speaking at a news conference at local press club on Saturday, he said an FIR was lodged at the Widh police station against the accused and sub-inspector Ali Bux Shar was investigating the case.

He said the accused were issuing false statements and holding protest demonstrations against him and police to build up pressure.

He alleged his family was receiving threats of dire consequences from the absconders.
