KARACHI, July 6: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that communities and associations have been playing their role towards the development of city areas especially the improvement of environment.
He stated this while inaugurating a park in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Sunday. The park was developed at a cost of Rs1.5 million by Kutchi Memon Cooperative Housing Society.
Mr Naimatullah said that people used to hesitate in adopting the park in the past and those, who even had courage to adopt the park, did not undertake its development work.
However, he claimed that a number of schools and parks had been developed under the city district government, while work on some parks and schools was in progress.
After inaugurating the park in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Mr Naimatullah said that he was convinced that the city government’s “adopt a park policy” was correct.
Mr Naimatullah said that all affairs were being conducted in a transparent manner and there had been not a single complaint or allegation of corruption against the city government in this regard. It was for this reason that development works in Karachi were being implemented at a high pace, he added.
Nazim Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town Abdul Wahab said that nine parks were adopted in the town, out of which four had been completed and work in five was in progress. Two roundabouts were also adopted and work on them was going on, he added.
The function was also addressed by MNA Mohammed Hussain Mehanti, MPA Nasirullah Shaji and Haji Abdul Ghani. — APP
