KARACHI, July 5: A man was shot dead and his two brothers were wounded when they put up resistance to the bandits in New Karachi on Saturday.

Police said three bandits entered a towel factory in Gabol Town, New Karachi, and started looting the labourers and its owners of cash and valuables.

Shaukat, Tariq and Jamil, brothers and owners of the factory put up resistance to the bandits who opened fire at them and escaped with the loot. All the three brothers suffered bullet wounds and were taken to a hospital where Jamil succumbed to his injuries. The condition of Shaukat and Tariq is stated to be serious.

SUICIDE: A youth hanged himself at his home in Manzoor Colony on Saturday.

Police said Yunus Masih, 27, had been jobless for the past many years and started taking heroin powder. On Saturday in a fit of depression he hanged himself.

The body was taken to a hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family for final rites.
