SANGHAR, Oct 11: Hesco is all set to disconnect power supply to defaulting government departments amounting to 22 million to the latter.

This was said in a meeting of district officers the other day, which was presided over by the DCO Sanghar Cap (retd) Abdul Rehman Tareen.

The XEN Hesco Khalid Masood informed the meeting that according to instructions of the Sindh Governor and Wapda chairman, a drive to recover dues from the defaulting government departments had been started.

He added that the district police department was defaulter of over Rs121,00,000, Sanghar municipality Rs56,00,000, Shahdadpur municipal committee Rs3,800,000, Public Health Department Rs2,975,000, Irrigation Department Rs1,500,000, Town Committee Jhol Rs229,000, TC Sinjhoro Rs9,000,000, TC Kandiari Rs255,000, TC Shahpur Chakar Rs2,954,000, TC Khadro Rs311,000; Revenue Department Rs2,400,000 and TC Sarhari Rs255,000.

The DCO warned the heads of the departments to pay heed to the Hesco warning adding in case of non-payment the power supply would be disconnected.

HBFC: House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) has started drive to recover Rs31 million from 533 defaulters in the district.

Arrest warrants against 40 defaulters have also been issued. According to HBFC district manager Taj Mohammad Leghari one of the defaulters Wazir Hussain Panhwar had been arrested and sent to the district jail while the corporation recovery staff was conducting raids to arrest the remaining.
