KARACHI, July 1: The spread of epidemic in Landhi area was reviewed at a meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammed Mahar and the administration officials, at the CM House, on Tuesday.
The chief minister directed that supply of clean water to the people be ensured and the victims be provided better medical facilities.
He directed the chief secretary to accelerate the pace of construction of flyovers in Karachi, to ease traffic problems faced by the people.
The chief secretary informed the chief minister about the causes of spread of water-borne diseases in Landhi. He said the health department had taken emergency medical and protective measures and the situation had now been brought under control.
Inspector general of Sindh police apprised the chief minister about law and order situation in the province.
Mr Mahar directed the police to fulfil its responsibilities towards maintenance of law and order and to ensure security of the life and property of the people.
Meanwhile, a number of people met Sindh chief minister on Tuesday and informed him about their problems.
The visitors included minister for mineral development, Haji Mohammed Usman Malkani, MPAs, Dr Ramesh Kumar, Abid Hussain Jatoi and others.
