KARACHI, June 26: Five ships carrying sulphur, chemical and to load wheat are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves picked up because of steady arrivals of foreign vessels. Five ships, Orient Stride, Al-Wajba and Hyundai Stride to unload and load containers, Bow Giovanni, to offload chemicals and Botany Treasure to unload tallow were berthed after the departure of three.
The ships, which departed included Manharttan Bridge, Elona and Nur al-Jubail, while Bow Giovanni, Botany Treasure, Tai He, Al-Wajba and Denizkizi are due to sail out on Friday.
A total tonnage of 84,692 tons comprising 23,188 tons of export cargo, including 4,063 tons of wheat and 1,322 tons of sugar and 61,504 tons of import tonnage, including 27,444 tons of oils.
The following ships are due on Friday: Kota Teraju, Sima Bahar, with containers, Shao Shah-2, to load 15,000 tons of wheat, Badvla Valley, with sulphur and Nur Yanbu, with chemicals.
KARACHI, June 26: MT Essberger carrying chemicals was allotted berth at Multi Purpose Terminal on Wednesday, said a PQA press release here on Thursday.
Meanwhile two more vessels carrying containers and chemicals also got anchored at the outer anchorage of the port during the last 24 hours.
A total of three ships, Safmarine Kimley, British Adventure and Essberger Pilot, remained occupied at PQA berths to load and offload containers, crude oil and chemicals, while Safmarine Kimley, British Adventure and MT Essberger Pilot sailed to sea.
