SIALKOT: Women public colleges in Sialkot district face the shortage of teachers as up to 52 posts have been lying vacant since long, according to the officials of Sialkot Education Department (colleges’ wing).
There are 91 seats of lecturers, assistant professors and professors for the district women colleges, of which 52 are vacant. Those vacant posts are of biology, physics, chemistry, English, economics, history, home economics, Islamiat, nursing education, Urdu, Pakistan studies, political science and math.
The colleges facing teachers’ shortage are: Government Postgraduate College for Women, Government Girls’ Degree College Hajipura, Government Girls’ Degree College of Kapoorwali, Government Allama Iqbal College for Women, Government Postgraduate College for Women, Daska, Government Girls’ Degree College of Pasrur, Government Girls’ Degree College of Qilla Kalarwala and Government Girls’ Degree College of Bhopalwala. Besides teachers, the provincial government is also ignoring libraries in government colleges as nine posts of librarians have been lying vacant in Government Murray College, Government Postgraduate College for Women Sialkot, Government Girls’ Degree College of Hajipura, Government Girls’ Degree College of Kapoorwali, Government Allama Iqbal College for Women, Government Postgraduate College for Women of Daska, Government Girls’ Degree College of Pasrur, Government Girls’ Degree College of Qila Kalarwala and Government Girls’ Degree College of Bhopalwala.
