Sparkling century by Asad

KARACHI, June 20: A dashing century by Hafiz Asad powered Zone-I Whites into the final of KCCA Inter-zonal Under-15 championship when they inflicted a massive 93 runs defeat on Zone-VI Whites in the semifinal at Student’s Ground Thursday.

Man of the Match, Hafiz Asad smashed nine boundaries and two 6s in his 113, as Zone-I Whites piled up 211 for nine wickets in their 50 overs.

Spinners Sameer Haider and Azhar Shah shared seven wickets between them. Sameer captured four wickets for 73 runs with his off-spin and Azhar Shah took three wickets for 45 runs with his leg breaks.

Zone-VI Whites in response were dismissed for 118 in 39th over. Asadullah topscored with 45 laced with five hits to the ropes.

Junaid Ahmed, Noman Hussain and Tabish Nawab caused the main damage in Zone-VI Whites batting. Paceman Junaid snapped three wickets for 20 runs. Noman Hussain claimed three wickets for 26 with his slow left arm spin and Tabish Nawab got two wickets for 30 runs.

Zone-I Whites will meet winner of second semifinal between Zone-III Whites and Zone-V Whites in the final on Sunday at TMC Ground.
