KARACHI: Two shot dead

KARACHI, June 18: A man was shot dead by unknown persons in Model Colony on Wednesday.

Police said that Tasleem Khan, 38, an employee of the Pakistan International Airlines was asleep in his house in Model Colony, when two armed men entered his house. The hue and cry created by the women inside the house aroused him. He was about to step out of his room, when the two men shot him and escaped.

He was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment, where he died.

According to police, the two intruders did not touch anything in the house. Police were investigating the case, but had not ascertained the motive behind the murder so far.

Meanwhile, a passenger coach driver was shot dead by armed men in Qayoomabad on Tuesday night.

Police said that some unknown persons boarded a passenger coach (PE-3076). When the coach reached Qayoomabad, they snatched cash from the conductor and told driver Haji Nawaz to stop the vehicle.

However, he continued driving, on which they shot him dead. As a result, the speedy coach over turned, while the bandits managed to escape. The driver’s body was shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem.

ACCIDENT: A young boy died and another was injured in a road accident in Quaidabad on Wednesday morning.

Police said that Abdul Malik, 12, died and his associate Abdul Hadi, 11, was injured when a speeding passenger coach knocked them down in Sherpao Colony, Quaidabad.
