Chinese border opens today

BEIJING, June 15: The Pakistan-China seasonal border via Karakoram Highway will be reopened on Monday.

Earlier, it was scheduled to open on May 1, after the winter season, but it was delayed in order to stop the spread of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars) virus.

Sources said here that the government had decided to open the border, since China had contained the disease.—APP
