ISLAMABAD, Jun 15: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Sunday deplored the opposition’s attitude towards the National Assembly speaker.

Referring to the opposition’s intention to move a no- confidence motion against the speaker, he said: “This attitude of the opposition is highly condemnable, which they are adopting against the custodian of the House (speaker).”

Defending the speaker’s ruling on the Legal Framework Order, he said the ruling was in accordance with the judgment of the Supermen Court and the Lahore High court as well as being in consonance with the Constitution.

“There is nothing contrary to it,” he said.

Accusing the opposition of violating the democratic norms, he said that the ruling cannot be challenged.

Expressing confidence regarding facing challenges, he said that the opposition were welcome to table the no-trust move any time they wanted.—APP
