QUETTA, June 10: The Inspector General Police Balochistan has transferred Superintendent of Police and a DSP of Sariab area where 11 under-training recruits had been gunned down by some unknown armed men on Sunday.
According to a notification issued here on Tuesday, the SP Saddar Mohammad Saleem Lehri and SDSO Shalkot, Ghulam Dastigier Khiliji, have been asked to report to Central Police Office, Quetta, with immediate effect.
It may be recalled here that the provincial cabinet had decided in its meeting on Monday to suspend SP, SDPO and SHO for negligence in performing their duties.
However, the sources said the IGP Balochistan did not agree with the decision of the cabinet, and has not suspended any police official in connection with the killings.
Sources said the IGP argued that with the suspension of police officials the morale of the police force would be affected. However, he transferred two senior police officials in connection with the terrorist act in this provincial capital.
Meanwhile, more than 100 Nazims and Naib Nazims of the district city government, who belong to the Hazara tribe, have threatened to resign if the government failed to bring the culprits involved in the killing of police recruits to task.
Talib Agha Hazara, Nazim UC Marriabad, told a press conference that Nazims would not hesitate from tendering resignations after requisitioning the district assembly session.
