PESHAWAR, June 9: NWFP Health and Population Welfare Minister Inayatullah Khan has ordered suspension of two radiologists who were found absent during his surprise visit to the Lady Reading Hospital on Saturday.

The minister and Health Secretary Dr Ihsanul Haq visited different wards and departments and checked the record and attendance registers.

Some patients complained to the minister about non-availability of staff  and certain tests facilities in the emergency laboratory.

The minister stressed that proper duty schedule of staff and cleanliness, especially in the emergency laboratory, should be maintained.

He said all the on-call specialists  must be available in each unit during the night.

He said the free medicines provided to the patients should be mentioned in the treatment charts.

He urged the staff to deal with the patients and attendants politely.

He said he would conduct surprise visits to the hospitals to review their functioning.
