QUETTA: Armed militants torched a tanker carrying fuel for US and Nato troops and killed its driver in Balochistan's militancy-hit Naseerabad district on Monday, police said.

Police also found three bullet-riddled bodies in Turbat town.

Noor Muhammad Bareech, the Deputy Superintendent of Police told Dawn.com armed militants opened fire at a Nato tanker in Mangoli area of Naseerabad.

He said the militants killed the drive and torched the tanker.

"The flames could be seen from quite far away," Bareech said. The militants sped away on their motorcycles after the incident.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack. Militants have been targeting Nato supplies in the area for the past few years.

In another incident, police found three bullet-riddled dead bodies in Balochistan's troubled Turbat town.

Munir Ahmed, a police official said three dead bodies were found and shifted to civil hospital Turbat for identification.

"From close range, they have been killed," he said, having no details about the identity of victims.

He said the dead bodies were found in Josak area of Turbat. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killings.

The incidents have come a day after the militants abducted six Customs and five levies officials from Gwadar and Kharan districts of the province.

The defunct Baloch Liberation Army and Baloch Liberation Front had claimed the responsibility for the kidnapping of the officials.
