Meraj Khalid hospitalized

LAHORE, June 7: Former caretaker prime minister Malik Meraj Khalid was still being kept in the intensive care unit of a private hospital here with serious condition, doctors said on Saturday.

Doctors treating him said he apparently suffered from congestion probably caused by heavy smoking. They said tests were being conducted to provide adequate medical assistance to him.

Cardiologist Dr Saqib, who is treating Meraj Malik, said it could not be said at this stage when he would be discharged.

Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool and Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi visited the hospital to enquire about the health of the seasoned politician.
