NAWABSHAH, June 7: Dozens of people fell unconscious as the temperature in the district rose to 50 degree Celsius on Saturday.

Several sunstroke cases were reported from different hospitals. The heatwave forced the people to remain indoor.

Business activities were badly affected due to scorching heat. The people were advised by the doctors to drink plenty of water and use wet clothes to beat the heat.

SANGHAR: Vaccinators faced problems to maintain the temperature of polio vaccines below eight degrees centigrade due to the severe heat during the anti-polio campaign.

The temperature shot up to 50 degrees Celsius during the three-day polio eradication drive that started on June 3.

The temperature of a polio vaccine has to be maintained between zero and eight degrees centigrade to keep it alive but planners of the anti-polio drive had not made adequate arrangements in this regard. Most of the vaccinators had been provided with low-quality coolers. They had also not been given vehicles.

LARKANA: The Met office recorded the temperature at 50.4 degree Celsius here on Saturday, reports APP.
