Bails of two brothers rejected

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 12: Local Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Falaksher Farooqa on Wednesday rejected bail applications of two brothers, formal mayors, involved in murder of local cotton ginning factory owner Mian Saud Ahmad.

Both Amjad Javed and Afzal Mull were arrested from the court a few days back when their bails applications were not accepted.

City police had registered a case against them on May 13, 2000, while police had recently submitted challan of the case with the court.

URGED: District Bar Association (DBA) senior member Chaudhry Muhammad Suleman has urged the police high-ups to get him recovered his stolen valuables worth Rs200,000.

In a press statement issued here on Wednesday, he said police had arrested the culprits with some of the valuables. They were reluctant to recover rest of the valuables, he alleged.

SNGPL: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has provided a sum of Rs1.4 million to cooperative department for reconstruction of its building.

District officer (cooperative) Nisar Ahmad informed here on Wednesday that the building was destroyed by gas pipeline blast some two years ago.

He said the department’s recovery teams arrested 13 defaulters and recovered Rs3.5 million from them. A sum of Rs10 million has been issued to farmers as a loan during current year.
