HYDERABAD, June 1: The Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto), Sindh, has called for reinstatement of the Faran, Thatta, and Dadu sugar Mills employees and payment of dues to them.

At its Sindh council meeting, presided over by the provincial president, Meenhon Khan Rind, the party also demanded that the Shahdadkot Textile Mills should be made functional, the multinational companies in Sindh should be directed to appoint local people and the demands of the primary teachers should be accepted.

In another resolution, the PPP (SB) demanded release of party leader, Ali Sonaro, and other political prisoners.

In yet another resolution it demanded withdrawal of law enforcement forces from the educational institutions, reduction in education fees and restoration student unions.

The party also decided to launch a struggle against what they called anti-Sindh projects, including that of greater Thal canal, from June 20.

It was decided at the meeting to launch a campaign of wall chalking from June 5 across the province to let the people know the effect of the Thal canal.

The party will also hold a series of demonstrations and hunger strikes against the canal project and an inordinate delay in the proceeding of Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.

The meeting observed that lawlessness, unemployment and water shortage were the problems presently confronted by the people of Sindh but the rulers had taken no steps to resolve the problems.

The meeting demanded daily proceeding of the Murtaza murder case in accordance with the decision of the Sindh High Court.

The meeting demanded withdrawal of facilities reportedly extended to the alleged assassins of Mir Bhutto and his companions.
