PARACHINAR, July 27: The death toll from Parachinar blasts on Saturday reached 57.

Also in the day, the mourners buried the people, who died in the blasts, amid moving scenes in Kurram Agency.

The funeral prayers of most victims were offered at the Markazi Imambargah of Parachinar. The bodies were later buried in different parts of the agency.

A complete shutdown was observed in the town in line with the three-day mourning announced by different political and religious groups.

Meanwhile, volunteers on Saturday continued with the rescue work at the blast site and collected parts of the victims’ bodies. The tense calm prevailed in the town on the second day of the blasts.

Leaders of all religious and political groups condemned the blasts and demanded of the government to take practical steps against terrorism instead of making false promises. —Correspondent
