MUZAFFARABAD, May 20: A man was injured in a border village of Azad Kashmir on Tuesday in unprovoked Indian shelling from across the Line of Control, police said.

Mohammad Taj, 30, son of Akram, received wounds by shrapnel of a shell in Samahni Sector of Bhimbher district, where Indian troops started shelling at 10am without any provocation, a police officer here told Dawn.

Indian troops also targeted Zero Point in Neelum Valley, in the northeast of Muzaffarabad, but fortunately no loss occurred, the officer said.

Zero Point, the opening of a bypass in Neelum Valley, is being continuously shelled by Indian troops from across the LoC since long.

Over the past two weeks, six people were killed and about 15 were injured in two incidents, in which the troops hit passenger jeeps near Zero Point.
