HYDERABAD, May 20: Apropos of a report published in Dawn’s May 18 issue under the headline “Redesigning of RBOB opposed”, the director, Right Bank Outfall Drain project, has clarified that the design of the RBOD has not been changed.
The director, who is also the chief engineer, development, said the reach of the RBOD from the Rajar village to Nai Baran had been described in the PC-I in detail as it was considered as a problematic reach and it was clearly written that it would cross the KB Feeder near the Kotri Barrage and would go on the left side of the feeder up to Nai Baran.
He said since this was the most critical reach of the RBOD, the irrigation and power department directed consultants to study in detail and give their proposal regarding alignment of the reach. He said the alignment recommended by the consultants had been mentioned in the PC-I.
