ISLAMABAD, May 14: Civil society organizations staged a protest demonstration in front of World Bank office on Wednesday, demanding of the government to make public all financial agreements so far signed with the International Financial Institutions (IFIs).

The participants were holding placards and chanting slogans against an alliance between the government and the IFIs.

The People’s Rights Movement (PRM), the organizer of the demonstration, said the agreements, signed especially during the Musharraf government, should be presented before parliament for re-evaluation.

It also condemned the release of final Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) on the occasion of Pakistan Development Forum (PDF) given the fact that it had not been shared with parliament and public.

In the end, a declaration was presented to Asian Development Bank, World Band country offices and Development Forum, Islamabad.
