KARACHI, May 11: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammed Khan Mahar said on Sunday that the ban on employment would be lifted within 10 to 15 days.
Speaking at an open kutchery at Chief Minister’s House, he said that about 20,000 vacancies would be filled on merit in essential services departments like education, health and police.
The chief minister expressed concern over the situation in the prisons, hospitals and educational institutions and said he would undertake surprise visits to taluqa headquarters, towns and cities and take action on public complaints.
He said he would travel by helicopter and land at any place without any prior programme to evaluate performance of the officials.
He said information technology would be spread to the far-flung areas.
The chief minister received a large number of complaints from people and issued orders.
A number of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) workers also met the chief minister and informed him of their problems.

According to a hand out, he reviewed the arrangements at the mausoleum and directed the management to provide maximum facilities to the visitors.
The chief minister distributed food among the poor and people informed him about their problems.—APP
