PABF’s grant not withheld

ISLAMABAD, May 7: The annual grant of Pakistan Basketball Federation (PABF) has not been withheld while the federations of handball and volleyball have pledged to implement the national sports policy, it was officially learnt Wednesday.

The 63rd Executive Committee meeting of Pakistan Sports, held Monday under the chairmanship of Minister for Sports Raees Munir Ahmed, had decided to stop the grants-in-aid of 14 national sports federations for not implementing the national sports policy.

PSB on Wednesday sought to clarify that PABF is not among the 15 federations which faced stoppage of grant.

The relevant provisions of national sports policy bar office-bearers of a sports body, whether at tehsil or at highest level, from holding more than two terms of four-years each in the same post.—APP
