MINGORA, May 3: The district government of Swat has declared Kalam and other flood-affected areas calamity hit and directed tehsildars to submit details within a week about the loss of properties.

District Nazim Dr Mehboobur Rehman has issued directives to all the tehsildars concerned for conducting surveys about the damages to public properties, says a statement issued here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, another handout says the district nazim they Naib Nazim Nisar Khan and officers of the irrigation department visited the sites where the river Swat has inundated fields and the main Mingora-Matta road.

This overflow of water has created hurdles for the traffic and pedestrians near the police line.
