THIS is apropos of Muhammad Iqbal’s letter (Sept 8).

For the 20 posts of assistant director (BS-17), Anti-Narcotics Force, 8,095 applications were received, out of which only one complaint has risen.

The picture painted by this candidate is not real. The Federal Public Service Commission staff is under strict instruction to be courteous while attending to queries made over telephone or when contacted in person for any information.

As regards the fee paid by candidates, it is clarified that being a public service institution the fee paid by candidates is nominal and is deposited with the government exchequer whereas expenditure on the processing application and conducting various examinations and interviews is much higher.

All letters by candidates seeking required documents are sent by registered post to ensure delivery to candidates. On finalisation, nominations to the posts made by the Federal Public Service Commission are communicated to candidates by multiple methods, i.e. through registered post, announcement through the press and posting on the FPSC website (www.fpsc.gov.pk).

The written test result for the subject case has already been communicated to unsuccessful candidates by post on Aug 15.

The list of pre-selected and rejected candidates has been placed on the website. The recruitment process of the posts in question is under way and not yet finalised.

As soon as it is finalized, the final result will be communicated to candidates by post, through the press and the FPSC’s website.

Since the information related to the selection process of the various posts is posted on the website of the FPSC, candidates may benefit from it.
