Asif scores ton in drawn tie
Wapda, who took a lead of 158 runs on the first innings, declared their second innings at 195-4 on the fourth and final day the moment opener Asif Hussain completed his century. Asif scored exactly 100 of 163 balls with the help of 11 boundaries. Aamir Sajjad hit 45 off 70 balls with six hits to the fence. Set a meaningless target of 354, KRL were 39-2 in their second innings when the match finished.
Wapda remained in fifth place in Group ‘A’ with 30 points. But KRL, the runners-up of last season, are languishing in ninth spot with just nine points. They are followed by Pakistan Customs and Lahore Shalimar, the only team yet to secure any points, at the bottom of this pool.
The championship will now take a break until Dec 3 because of Eid-ul-Azha.
