ISLAMABAD: On the advice of the prime minister, the president has withdrawn the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Ordinance 2009 (VII of 2009), President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said on Tuesday.

The ordinance envisaging the setting up of mobile courts was issued on Feb 27. Mr Babar said that the advice to withdraw the ordinance was received from the prime minister on Tuesday evening in the Presidency.—PPI
