New Delhi, March 25: A US FBI team comprising law officials has arrived in New Delhi and will visit Mumbai soon to finalise its own charge-sheet in the November terror attacks on India’s financial hub, Press Trust of India said on Wednesday. The team will also work on the “logistics” for its officials to appear before a special court holding the Mumbai attack trial.

The FBI team, which arrived here on Tuesday, has held discussions with security agencies that had probed the Mumbai terror strikes and intercepted telephonic conversation between alleged Lashker-e-Taiba militants and their handlers in Pakistan.

The team was also likely to hold a meeting with law and external affairs ministry officials, sources told PTI, adding a discussion with with lawyers appearing on behalf of the government would also be held in Mumbai.

The news agency said the current visit was aimed at helping the FBI to finalise its own charge-sheet in the case, which it will submit before the US courts. As per US laws, the FBI has to probe the death or torture of any American citizen outside the US and submit a charge-sheet. Six US nationals and a British national lost their lives in the Mumbai attacks.
