KARACHI, March 18: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday called upon all political parties, particularly the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-N, to shun political differences and initiate a dialogue for country’s sake.

He also called for the early lifting of the governor’s rule in Punjab and restoration of the provincial government.
Mr Hussain was speaking to participants of a programme organised here at the Jinnah Ground to mark the silver jubilee of his party’s founding.

Mr Hussain said that Pakistan was facing a number of crises and civil-war like situation in two provinces, adding that political confrontation in Punjab for the past two years and the judicial crisis had been threatening the nation’s very existence.

The situation in Punjab, he added, had improved remarkably after the government’s timely decisions on March 15.
The MQM leader congratulated the president, the prime minister, the Sharif brothers and the legal fraternity for a peaceful resolution of the judicial crisis.

Mr Hussain also urged the government to lift the governor’s rule in Punjab as soon as possible.
