ISLAMABAD: Following the decision to launch military action in South Waziristan, intelligence reports suggest that the South Waziristan militants along with the operators of banned militant outfits in Punjab could possibly carry out attacks in different areas of Punjab, Sindh and the Federal Capital.

According to Interior ministry sources, the ministry's National Crisis Management Cell has received these intelligence reports. They suggest that terrorists are likely to strike military and the law enforcement agencies' installations in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Sources also said that terrorists are planning these attacks out of desperation in light of the South Waziristan operation.

After receiving these reports, the ministry has directed all the four provinces and the concerned law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant.
