NAWABSHAH: Nostalgia struck President Asif Ali Zardari while addressing the PPP workers and elected representatives at the Zardari House here, on Monday. He fondly reminisced the days of his childhood spent at every corner and on every street of the city.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of his party workers for the restoration of democracy, Zardari reaffirmed of providing security, prosperity and betterment to future generations. He asked the gathering to pray that he succeeds in fulfilling the mission of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. The time, he said, would prove his devotion to the ideology of Benazir Bhutto. People would feel the change soon as quite many projects for the beautification of Nawabshah were on the anvil, said President.

He announced of the deployment of another Air Force unit at Nawabshah Air Base and establishment of a power generation plant and industrial zone at the Sakrand bypass.

MNAs Faryal Talpur, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and MPAs Ghulam Qadir Chandio and Tariq Masood Arain were present.

Later, President visited his ancestral graveyard in Baalu-Ja-Qubba and offered Fateha at the graves of his mother and ancestors.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza and Food Minister Mir Nadir Magsi also called on the President at Zardari House.

Our Larkana correspondent adds: Earlier, President Zardari visited the Bhuttos’ mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto.

He placed a wreath and 56 bouquets at the grave of Benazir Bhutto marking her 56th birthday and also offered Fateha at other graves.

Asif Ali Zardari met presidents, secretaries, information secretaries and the party workers of Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts at the President House Camp Office in Naudero.

Party workers apprised him of the ongoing development schemes while President decided to place the responsibility on the National Highway Authority to look after the uplift work of Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts.

He directed the executing agencies for early completion of the works and also sought lists of villages in need of electricity and gas.

He promised allocation of fund to the Benazir Bhutto Medical University and appointment of vice-chancellor soon.
