WFP resumes food distribution in Bajaur

BAJAUR: The World Food Program (WFP) has reopened its distribution centers in Bajaur Agency after a month long closure, sources in the WFP said here Saturday.

The sources informed that the distribution centers have been opened after successful talks between the representatives of the WFP and the agency administration which were closed due to security concerns in agency headquarters Khar, tehsil Nawagai and tehsil Qazzafi.

It merits a mention here that the WFP had also opened its centers in Malakand Division but the same was delayed in Bajaur agency. It was further said that affectees would be provided rations for the month of October, 2009 in a week.—APP
