LAHORE: Punjab Governor Salman Taseer ruled out the possibility of his removal from the post of Punjab governor and said that this issue should be turned down just like the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

He was talking to media persons here at the mausoleum of national poet and great philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal on Monday where he had come to offer his respects to the great poet and philosopher.

He said that PPP is a national party and symbol of the federation; however, he added there may be some political differences with other parties.

To a question, he said that in order to counter the crises of sugar in the country, people should boycott its use.

He was of the view that the prevailing acts of terrorism in the country were against the philosophy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.—APP
