LAHORE: Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Friday presented in the Punjab Assembly proof of Chaudhry Moonis Elahi’s alleged deal on Robert Agricultural Farms in Rahimyar Khan.

Later, in a media briefing outside the assembly chamber, the minister alleged Moonis Elahi, son of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, had purchased the farms from Syed Muhammad Ikram Ali for Rs38.170 million in 2005.

He said, ‘Now the ball is in the Chaudhrys’ court and they have to prove the documents fake’.

The law minister alleged Moonis Elahi had illegally occupied state land, when his father was chief minister, thus usurping the rights of the tenants, the real custodian of the land.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Zaheeruddin rejected the allegations and said it was a bogus case which had been deliberately brought in the house by the N-League in an attempt to stop the Q-League from highlighting PML-N’s bad governance.

He said the PML-Q and its leadership had nothing to do with Robert Agricultural Farms, and they also wanted the farms to be allotted to the tenants.—APP
