QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (Mengal) held rallies in several district headquarters of the province in protest against search operations by the Frontier Corps and arrests of Baloch activists.

Addressing protesters here on Sunday, the party’s acting President Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini and information secretary Agha Hasan Baloch accused FC personnel of raiding houses of dozens of activists in the city on Saturday night and manhandling members of their families and arresting dozens of people.

They said protest rallies were held in Nushki, Dalbandin, Kalat, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Hub, Barkhan, Loralai and Sibi.

They also accused the Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies of trying to pit sections of local people against each other and being involved in killing settlers and kidnapping Baloch activists.

They said the BNP-M would continue its struggle to protect the coast and resources of the Baloch people.

They also said that the Baloch would frustrate oppressors’ design of settling outsiders in the province to convert them into a minority.
