QUETTA: Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power and President Pakistan Peoples Party Balochistan chapter Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani Thursday said that the federal government would soon announce a constitutional package for Balochistan to address grievances of the province’s people.

He said the constitutional package would provide resolution to all the problems of the people of Balochistan. He noted that President Asif Ali Zardari’s apology for the atrocities committed against the people of Balochistan by the previous government was valued by both Baloch and Pushtoon communities of the province.

He mentioned that on the directives of President Zardari, the federal committee would take all political parties on board on the proposed constitutional reforms for Balochistan.

He elaborated that the constitutional package for Balochistan would be moved in the National Assembly and the Senate for legislation soon. He maintained that people who were opposing the federation would be taken on board and added that the militants would also be invited to dialogue soon.—APP
