LAHORE: Punjab Governor, Salman Taseer, has said that there are no militant training centres in Southern Punjab; though, some terrorists have fled to the area from Waziristan.

Taseer was addressing the Forman Christian College’s Annual Convocation in Lahore after awarding degrees to the graduate and post-graduate students.

He said that terrorists are defaming Islam by destroying female schools. He added that Islam and education both teach us tolerance.

Talking to media after the convocation, Salman Taseer said that allegations of corruption have always been used as a tool against democratic governments.

Regarding the recent report of Transparency International about high corruption in Pakistan, Taseer said he doesn't recognize the agency. -DawnNews
