LANDI KOTAL: Three persons including a security official were injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a fort here on Thursday, officials said.

Commandant Khyber Rifles Col. Furqanullah Khan Tarin told Dawn that an explosive laden vehicle driven by a suicide attacker struck the western boundary wall of a mini fort at Charbagh at around 8am which caused a huge blast. He said that a Khyber Rifle jawan Wakil Khan received minor injuries when he was hit by pieces of window panes inside the fort.

Two local residents also received injuries when hit by metal pieces of the vehicle, officials said. The blast also caused damaged to the stable of the fort and injured two mules.

Col. Tarin said that the Charbagh Fort is under the occupation of Khyber rifles and serve as the wing Headquarter for Torkhum and Shalman. He said that at least forty security men were present inside the fort at the time of explosion.

Local residents said that the blast was so severe that it completely damaged the vehicle and body organs of the unknown suicide bomber were found 150 meters away from the scene of explosion.
